Dr. Theo Caners
Optometrist
Dr. Caners graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1993 as an Optometrist and started his own business "Portage Family Eye Care" in 1996. Dr. Caners tests your vision to figure out your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. While testing your vision he is also checking the health of your eyes. He will be checking for conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, or systematic problems such as diabetes and uncontrolled high blood pressure.

Eyeglass Optician
Nikki McFarlane
Nikki is licensed to provide your spectacles. She collects data using measurements and interpreting prescriptions written by Ophthalmologists and Optometrists.
This data is then used for proper selection of lens type. Nikki will help you with fittings and adjustments, as well as selecting the appropriate frame, lens and lens treatment unique to you.
Contact Lens Optician
Susan Gray
Susan confirms the general health of your corneas and tear film. She can measure your corneal curvature to determine your suitability for contact lens wear.
You can discuss with Susan your work requirements and leisure activities to determine which contact lens will serve you best.

Jennifer Walker Miller
Jenn is responsible for pre-examination tests. These tests involve asking questions to determine what will be required of the Doctor in the examination room.
Jenn performs tests that help make eye appointments more efficient and productive by gathering necessary data before examination begins.
